Dear BADV community,
As you know, we are constantly on the look-out for programs to delight you, inform you, and in general, make life fantastic for you. This Poila Boishak, Kolkatans are organizing a super-star studded music, dance and theater program and making it available to watch online – for a price. We pulled out all the stops, reached out to Philadelphia’s Bengali Association (Pragati) to collaborate with us, negotiated a reasonable sharing of costs, and have succeeded in arranging for you to watch this on YouTube to celebrate the new year, in the way only Bengalis can! - The event will be broadcast for you on Sunday April 18th 2021 from 5 to 9pm. The program will be available for just the next 24 hours, and will be become unavailable after that.
- Because of our affection for all of you, and because you deserve it, we are making this event FREE of charge for our community.
- Some of the celebrities you will see are: Srikanto, Rupankar, Jojo, Anindo, Prabir, Reshmi, Jyotishman, Urmila, Bangla Band “Naiyar”, and a comedy play “Cross Connection”.
- It is understood, that to really have a good time, we need a Bangali Jol-Khabaar to enjoy with the festivities. For you, beloved friends, we are preparing delectable $10 food packets of
shingara, puri/luchi, torkari, begun bhaja, and mishti, for distribution as before.
This program is exclusively for BADV and Pragati communities. We will continue to bring you such events whenever possible. Please support the cause, not only by ordering plenty of food, but also by sending donations. Any monetary gift is welcome, it will help us to continue to serve you in the future. We will be checking in with you soon by phone to share further details about the program and food.
